He served with the Marine’s Company D, 2nd Battalion, 27th Regiment, 5th Division and the 2nd Parachute Battalion. He saw action in the Solomon Islands at Vella LaVella and the Raid at Choiseul. After retiring in 1990, he enjoyed going to “the boat” with his fellow postal retirees, Emmett and Willard. On May 11, 1963 she married her best friend and soul mate, Leroy Miller, in St. Joseph. Together they spent 47 blissful years of marriage, raising two wonderful children who represent everything good that is Glenda: Ty Miller and wife Judy of Keller, TX, and Amelia Zane Anne Jordan and husband Daniel of Colorado Springs, CO. Glenda was also blessed with three loving grandchildren who are the shining light of her life, MyKayla Miller, Colt Daniel Lee Jordan (who was waiting for her at heaven’s gate), and Stephan Jordan.
Although she held several sales and marketing positions in St. Joseph, Dallas, TX and Oklahoma City, Glenda’s primary occupation in life was that of a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and care giver to all.
Glenda didn’t know a stranger. She would go out of her way to help anyone who needed it. She could walk into a crowded room of people, not knowing a soul. However, by the time she left that room, she considered everyone her friend. Glenda would light up the room with just her smile and loving personality.
In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, Glenda is survived by her mother, Irma Middaugh of St. Joseph; her sisters, Dixie Wrex of Dallas, TX and Kristie Mitchell of Florence, S. Carolina; several nieces and nephews from across the country and many dear friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by her grandmother Amelia Zancker, her uncle Norman Zancker, her father H.O. Middaugh, her sister Beverly Jean Ripper, her brother Larry Middaugh, and her grandson Colt Daniel Lee Jordan.
We will miss her quick wit, intellectual prowess, loving nature and most of all, her loving arms.
