Matthew W. “Matt” Bailey, 31, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in St. Joseph.
Matt was born in St. Joseph on September 4, 1978, to Donald F. and Janet M. Bailey. He was a graduate of Savannah High School, member of Word of Life Church and USCW Union Local #2. He worked in the shipping department at Triumph Foods.
Matt was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Walter C. “Brownie” Brown.
Survivors include his parents, Donald F. and Janet M. Bailey, of the home; sister, Leigh A. Head, Columbia, MO; daughters, Brianna Renee Bailey and Natalie Ann Bailey of St. Joseph, MO; maternal grandmother, Shirley A. Brown, St. Joseph, MO; paternal grandparents, Luther F. and Carolyn Bailey, Tucker, GA, Esther James, Macon, GA and paternal grandfather, Jakie Brisby, St. Joseph, MO; two nieces; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial Service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, one hour prior to the Service. Inurnment at a later date.
