David Shannon Beam

David Shannon Beam, 37, was ushered into God’s presence June 16 at his home in Eureka, Missouri.

Shannon was born August 29, 1972 in St. Joseph to George D. Beam and Nelda J. Bryan. He grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Central High School in 1990. He attended DeVry Universtiy, Kansas City, Missouri.

Shannon relocated to the St. Louis area in 1994 and entered the financial market sector. He was Vice President, Operations for Commerce Bank, and later a Bond Trader at Walnut Street Securities and Buckingham Asset Management. At the time of his death Shannon was a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones with an office in Manchester, MO.

Shannon was known by his clients as a man of integrity who kept their interests as his absolute priority. He was a bright, intelligent man with a warm and caring nature. He was a devoted family man and his children were the heart and soul of his life.

Shannon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leslie & Vera Bryan.

In 2003, he married Kara Chappie, who survives him. He is survived by a son, Derek J. Beam, and two daughters, Olivia P. and Anna M. Beam. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Shelley (Jim) Hoene, Eureka, Missouri, a brother, Scott D. Beam, St. Joseph., and paternal grandmother, Nelly Busby, St. Joseph.

Shannon will be missed by his niece and nephews, Lydia, David & Bradley Hoene, Eureka, and Brandon Beam and Summer Davis, St. Joseph, as well as a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 21, 6-8pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel with a remembrance time at 7:30 pm. Graveside services will be held at 10 am., Tuesday, June 22 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Shannon Beam Memorial Fund, Central Assembly of God Church, 1222 N 18th St., St. Joseph, MO or a charity of your choosing.
