Robert E. Burger, 71, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at his home.
He was a loving father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bob was always there to help anyone and everyone, no matter what time of day or night, and that was when he was happiest. He was a true gem.
Robert was born August 20, 1938 to John Richard and Bertha Laura (Woodard) Burger in Oregon, Missouri. He was a graduate of Oregon, Missouri high school and was a self-employed carpenter.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glenn F. and Harold Burger; and sister, Marie Bammer.
Survivors include son, Jeff Burger and his wife, Teresa K., St. Joseph; daughter, Debbie Price and her husband, Terry, Oregon, Missouri, step-daughter, Terri Grishow; Amber (Kenny) Wahlgren, who was like a daughter; grandchildren, Nicole (Scott) Kneib, Julie (Travis) Miller, Dustin and Cody Price, Bobbie and Billie Stiernagle; six great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Esther) Burger, Alpine, California; sisters, Dorothy Kirk, Independence, Missouri, Judy (Larry) Sommer, Dodge City, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private family memorial service will be held under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to American Lung Association.
