We share Your sorrow. You probably do not remember many of Us who were shown many kindnesses by Don...Back in the 1950s
when He was running the Auto shop of North 13th, He gave
Us, My wife and New Born son, the ability to have our vehicle
repaired and pay when we could....He has always been remembered by My Self and Family as a truly Great Man.
His shop was also a very Fun place to go, Evan as I recall was
either a baby or not yet born...But rest assured, all his civic duties and Military services were appreciated and still are. May God show many days of sunshine on all your fondest memories.

It is so sad to hear of Melvin's passing. I knew him since the early 1960s. He did not have an easy life, but made the best of it. When Mevin was wrongly accused of murdering Eric Christgen in 1979, he was robbed of nearly 5 years of hs life (having been sent to prison) but seemed to take it in stride. I think we can all learn from Melvin's attitude on life.
Rest In Peace, Melvin as you enter a pain-free Eternity. I'll see you again someday.

God bless Charlie! I first worked with Charlie starting in 1972 at Methodist Medical Center - we worked nights and visited. I worked with him again for many years while at Nestle Purina PTC where Charlie was a guard. What a fine, gentleman. He always spoke of his family and had such energy and enthusiasm. My sympathy to all of Charlie's family at his passing.

I worked with Norm for many years at UMB bank. One fond memory was going out for a cold beverage after working the 4-12 shift at a local bar, which no longer is around. I asked Norm something about closing time, since he had been there before, he said you will know don't worry about it. At some point in time they turned the brightest lights on I had ever seen. They were so bright your eyes hurt. I will never forget the look and laughter on his face looking at me.

RIP - Uncle Norm my friend!

To The Sarris Family,

Please accept our family's sincerest condolences. Gus was a kind and caring person that set such a great example for his students, friends and family. We just saw Gus & Rita a couple of months ago and had a brief but nice visit.

Take care during this difficult time..

I am so sorry to hear of Charlyne's death. My mother, Dorothy Wylie, thought so much of all of the Mitchell family. Charlyne was very thoughtful, especially while my mother was sick, as she called, visited, and took Mom to lunch, often with other members of the Mitchell family.
I hope that many good memories of Charlyne will provide comfort for you. I am sending prayers and good thoughts for Charlyne and your family.

sorry for your loss,

After Glow
I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done,
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing
times and bright and
summer days.
I’d like the tears of those who
grieve, to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.

So very sorry to hear of your loss-Paula was such a very special lady. We were blessed to live by her when she lived on Southwest Trail-our backyards connected and she became a special friend to our young daughter Breanna. We will always have wonderful memories of a beautiful lady and all the time and patience she gave to a little girl new to the area to make her feel welcome. Praying your memories will comfort you during this time.

My heartfelt condolences go out to John's family at this time. I first met John when I managed the King Hill Pizza Hut in the 1970s, and he would come in and visit. I saw him from time to time since then, and always considered him a good friend.
John, I someday hope to see you again on the other side. Until then, rest in peace, my friend.

John, I someday hope to see you again on the other side. Until then, rest in peace, my friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with Betty's family at this time. I had Betty as a typing teacher at Central High School and could not wait to get to her class every day! Her kindness, caring, smile, and her soft-spoken tone are things I will always remember. One of the best teachers I ever had.

Blessings and Peace to all of you,
Stacee Samenus

Jim & I express our sympathies to Betty's family and to her friends. We knew her from church; she & I attended the same Sunday school class for many years and my husband was her pastor. I loved her sweet spirit and great smile.

Dave was a very special guy and I enjoyed working with him at Amfam. Always willing to help you in any way he could and always cared about others. Where I sit, someone else is suffering from cancer and he would always ask me while passing in the hallway how she was doing wanting to know if she was ok, but he didn't want to ask her in case she didn't want to talk about or seem intrusive, but you knew he really was concerned and here he was battling it himself and if you asked him how he was, he'd say I'm doing ok. He will be truly missed. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I just wanted to say that I feel like I knew David, as most of us did at KCIC, where his Sister-in-law Gina works. Gina spoke of David and Cindy often. Twenty five wonderful years together I'm told. What an inspiration. Cindy, stay strong until you are once again with your sweetie. He'll be waiting. God bless you and the family.

When I was a kid we would get out of school for the summer, my Mother (Adena, Florence's sister ) loaded us in the car and we drove from Michigan to Missouri in 9 hours. A lot of our time was spent at my Aunt Florence's house. She was the best Aunt and she had so many kids to play with. We always had good times, good food, and she always had time for us. She was the best Aunt ever. I am so glad I visited with her last fall. Even though she was not all there, I know she will always love me as I will her. Now she is in heaven with her other family members and I am sure she is very happy. I am relieved that she is at peace with herself and is in God's Kingdom. I love you Aunt Florence, you were the best Aunt ever.

Mrs. Conway, as I knew her, was my 7th grade teacher at Bode Middle School in 1984. I am truly saddened by her passing. She was so influential in my life. She made learning English the best ever! She treated all the kids, regardless of our background, the same. We all believed that we were gifted! I love you Mrs. Conway...rest in peace.

When I first started teaching, I was at Bode half day and I would have SSR in her classroom. She was a great person and a wonderful teacher. She taught two of my children and I know she made a huge difference in their lives. Tought and prayers are with Connie and her family.

Connie was my 7th grade block teacher. She smiled a lot and was full of spunk in the classroom. I now have a 7th grader at Bode where she taught me. The school is a better place for having her as a teacher.

Connie will be fondly remembered as a friendly, caring, and compassionate person. I remember her as the little cheerleader at Central with the big smile and friendly personality to all she encountered. As an adult she was fun, intelligent, a very quality teacher and wonderful person. At Bode teaching she was a positive energetic teacher and valuable staff member who I had the privilege to work with. Rest in peace dear friend

Connie was one of my very first friends at Bode. She was substituting during the 1998-1999 school year when I started teaching at Bode. The next year, she was hired back at Bode. I joined B Team during the 2000-2001 school year and remained on the same team with Connie until she retired in 2005. I loved working with Connie and considered her a good friend. Connie turned 50 the year I joined the team, and I threw her a 50th birthday party with the other team members. She had to open a lot of presents that day. I wanted her to have 50 presents, but I don't know if I ever got that many together or not. We often celebrated her birthday on or around October 1st. This was fun because many Bode teachers got together to eat supper and eat CAKE!
Connie, I love you girl, and I will miss you a bunch!

Dear family,
We were so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. We did not learn of it until today, Feb 14th at 4:30 pm. We were of course not able to make it. Please know that we are thinking of you, and your family. Aunt Betty was a beautiful spirit. Always had a smile. Please forgive our absence at this sorrowful time.
