William J. “Bill” Daily, Sr. 83, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the local hospital.

Bill was born on March 21, 1926 to William M. and Stella (Scott) Daily in St. Joseph, Missouri. He graduated from Central High School in 1944 and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was co-owner of Myers Roofing Company. He attended Copeland Baptist Church.

He loved woodworking and square dancing, and was a member of the Savannah Sashayer Club. He enjoyed coaching Little League for several years.

Bill married his wife of 60 years, Beverly Myers on December 9, 1949 in St. Joseph, Missouri, she survives of the home. He is also survived by a son, William J. “Billy Joe” and his wife, Janice Daily, Jr.; Grandchildren, Angela and her husband Joe Huber, Matthew and his wife Kristi Daily; Step-grandchildren, Kim and her husband David King; six great-grandchildren, Joseph and Destiny Huber, Eli and Ella Daily, Landen and Rylan King; one sister, Louise Seever. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Kathleen Thornton, DeLorse McNulty, Ruth Metzker.

Funeral Services were held January 9, 2010 at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel. The Reverend Charles Steele officiated at the service. A private family burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Honorary Pallbearers were Walt Ashler, Russ Pettijohn, George Stallsworth, Joe Glenski, John Roberts and Leonard Powell.
