Wilma C. (Wade) Deatherage, 83, St. Joseph, MO, died Friday, August 20, 2010, at Gower Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Deatherage, a homemaker, also farmed with her husband, Delbert for many years.

Born in Belle Plaine, Kansas, on June 27, 1927, she lived in Kansas for three years before moving to the Camden Point and then Agency, Missouri, areas.

Mrs. Deatherage was a member of Huffman United Methodist Church, in St. Joseph. Mrs. Deatherage was a graduate of Agency High School. She played in the Sing-a-Ling Kitchen Band for many years at the Senior Center.

On December 31, 1946, she married Delbert P. Deatherage in St. Joseph, MO. They moved to the Cosby, Misssouri, area in 1960. He died in 1978. Mrs. Deatherage was also preceded in death by her parents, Creath and Maude Wade.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Knapp, St. Joseph, Kimberly Sommerville, Overland Park, KS; four sons, Colin Deatherage, Smithville, MO, Gary Deatherage, King City, MO, Daryl Deatherage, Llncoln, NE, Galen Deatherage, St. Joseph, MO; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services 10:00 a.m. Monday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Rev. Bruce Jacobs officiating. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph.

Visitation will begin after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the Chapel, where the family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.

The family suggests memorial contributions to American Heart Association.
