Gwanetha A. Dodson, 90, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Gwanetha was born in Darlington, Missouri on February 29, 1920 to James and Edith McMillian. Gwanetha lived most of her life in the
Maysville/Oak area.
She was a very strong woman, who gave her life to her family by raising her four children on her own. She loved animals, but most
especially loved her family.
Gwanetha was preceded in death by her parents; sister; and her daughter, Margaret Young.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Parkhurst and wife, Renee, Jim Parkhurst and wife, Doty; daughter, Carolyn Kiyama and husband, Ted; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and Interment 2 p.m., Thursday at Grandview Cemetery, Albany, Missouri under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. There will be no visitation at our Chapel, however a register book will be available to sign.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Grandview Cemetery perpetual care fund, 201 West Clay, Albany, Missouri 64402.
