Eva Evans, 81, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at a local hospital.
Eva was born February 11, 1929 to Everett and Lola (Reeves) Lane in Pollock, Missouri. She was employed at Noma Lights, Sears and J.C. Penney.
She married Donald Evans, who preceded her in death. While in St. Joseph, they were members of Deer Park United Methodist Church and Central Assembly of God. They started and operated The Barn Christian Youth Group and His Place Coffee House and The New Del Motel.
Upon retirement, Don and Eva moved to Arizona where they lived for 30 years. Eva moved back to St. Joseph in 2005.
Eva was also preceded by her parents; son, Mike Evans, 7 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Survivors include son, Don Evans and his wife, Teresa, Wathena, Kansas; daughter, Vicki Hontz and her husband, Jack, St. Joseph; son, Jeff Evans and his wife, Carla, Apache Junction, Arizona; sisters, Jean Bowman, Juanita Jarman; 7 grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services 1:30 pm, Friday Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon Thursday at our chapel, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to AFL-CIO “Adopt A Family” Program.
