George Glore, 73, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010.
Mr. Glore was born on February 18, 1937, in Leadwood Missouri, to Firmin F. and Gertrude (Gregory) Glore. He was a member of Unity Church of Christianity. He was employed at St. Joseph State Hospital for 43 years, and was founder of the Glore Psychiatric Museum. He had also worked part-time for J.C. Penney for twenty-five years.
Mr. Glore was preceded in death by his wife, Carlyne; parents; sister, Virginia Huhman and two brothers, William Glore and Jasper “Jack” Glore.
Survivors include his son, Michael P. Glore and wife Jennie, St. Joseph, MO; two granddaughters, Caitlin and Kyra Glore; one sister, Ruth Huether, St. Louis, MO; brother, Firmin F. Glore, Jr., Van Buren, MO; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Private Inurnment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Glore Psychiatric Museum or to American Diabetes Association.
