Billy E. Grable

Billy E. Grable, 73, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010 at a local hospital.

Billy was born November 7, 1936 to Thomas and Thelma (Alsup) Grable in DeKalb, Missouri.

Billy was an over the road truck driver for several trucking firms, until he became an owner operator of his own trucks. He hauled produce and citrus to his own produce market at Carthage, Missouri for several years, and later sold and transported to a local Carthage vendor. Billy retired early after injuring his back, but still remained in touch with many of his prior produce customers. He had friends all over the southwest, who called and kept in touch with him. He also sold cars
in St. Joseph and Tucson, Arizona and was well known and liked in the auto business.

He was a member of DeKalb Christian Church and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Billy married Mabelle Clark, she preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents; daughter, Gloria Randall; sister, Joan Lash; numerous grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Survivors include brothers, Wesley Grable, and his wife Shirley and family, St. Joseph, Milton Dean Grable and his wife, Joan and family, El Cajon, California; sisters, Doris Bushno and her husband, Richard, DeKalb, Maxine Long and her daughter, Martha Long, Fort Worth, Texas; step-daughters, Mary, Rita, Naomi, Karon.; favorite son-in-law, Stanley Randall; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mr. Grable has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. There will be no visitation at our chapel. Private family inurnment at a later date.
