Savannah, MO-Eva A. Hellums, 87, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at home with her family by her side.
Born in St. Joseph on July 28, 1922, to Ivy and Rose (Hinkle) Koozer, Eva was a graduate of Lafayette High School. She worked as a Claims Rep for Social Security Administration. Eva enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and camping, but especially loved spending time with her grandkids.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Elaine Lantz; one brother and two sisters.
Eva married Eldon G. Hellums on May 8, 1943. He survives of the home. She is also survived by two sons, Michael (Sue) Hellums, St. Joseph, MO and Dennis Hellums, Savannah, MO; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services:1:00 p.m. Monday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
Visitation will begin after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel, where the family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
The family suggests memorial contributions to AseraCare Hospice.
