Sharon K. (Tilson) Hurst, 59, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at her home.
Sharon was born March 15, 1952 in Saint Joseph, Missouri to Emery and Wanda (Caselman) Tilson, who preceeded her in death. She graduated from Central High School and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Missouri Western State University.
Sharon had most recently been the business office assistant for Aseracare. Previously she had been a para at Savannah High School, customer service technician for the IRS and worked at Westab.
Sharon married Gary Hurst on August 12, 1972 at Green Valley Baptist Church in Saint Joseph, he survives of the home.
Sharon was a very active member of the First Baptist Church, as well as, Women on Mission. She enjoyed scrapbooking, but her family and friends were most important to her. She loved them dearly and was devoted to them all. Her husband Gary was her best friend.
Additional survivors include daughter, Heidi Hurst, Los Angeles, California; son, Dustin (Katie) Hurst, Columbia, Missouri; granddaughter, Maryam; brother, Bob (Susie) Guinn; sisters, Sondra (Steve) Allen, Carol (Dennis) McGarry, all of Saint Joseph; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; brothers-and sisters-in-law.
Services 10 am, Thursday at First Baptist Church in Savannah. Visitation will begin after 4 pm, Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday evening. Interment Savannah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Veronica’s Voice, P. O. Box 172472, Kansas City, Kansas 66117-1472 or First Baptist Church in Savannah.
