Alice E. (Guethle) Kneib
1929 – 2010
Alice E.(Guethle) Kneib, 80, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010, at a St. Joseph health care center.
Alice was born on October 19, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, to George and Mary (Kaiser) Guethle. She was raised in Kansas City, MO. Her family moved to St. Joseph during her Senior year of high school and she was a graduate of Convent of the Sacred Heart. She worked at KFEQ Radio and KQTV. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Quilting Group.
Alice married Francis Kneib on September 17, 1955, at Cathedral of St. Joseph. She stayed at home and raised her family, after which, she went to work at Mead-Westvaco, retiring after sixteen years of employment.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George J. Guethle.
Alice is survived by her husband, Francis A. Kneib, of the home; two sons, Bruce Kneib, St. Joseph, MO and Mark Kneib, Fillmore, MO; three daughters, Nancy Cordonier, Parkersburg, WV, Rita J. Kneib, Sacramento, CA, and Ann Welter, St. Joseph, MO; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, James Guethle, San Antonio, TX and Nick Guethle, Wichita, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Father Tom Ludwig officiating.
Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in St. Joseph.
Visitation will begin after 9:00 a.m. Sunday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Pallbearers: Nathan Kneib, Travis John Kneib, Chase Kneib, Jacob Cordonier, John Cordonier and Michael Cordonier.
