Jean Knox, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at a local hospital.

Jean was born December 28, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee to Ellard Otis and Eula Myrtle (Jones) Kelley. She was a certified substance abuse counselor for various institutions within the State of Missouri Corrections system. Jean was a professional musician in her early years and was very proud of her 26 years of sobriety. She was a
member of Wallace Christian Church.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include son, Jim Kelly and his wife, Vicki, Kansas City, Kansas; daughters, Susan Rogers and her husband, Mark, Rosendale, Missouri, Debbie Crum and her husband John, Russellville, Missouri, Connie Knox, St. Joseph; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and step-mother, Dorothy Kelly, Kansas City, Kansas.

Private memorial services will be held under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Pastor Darrell Jones officiating. Mrs. Knox has been cremated.

The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice.
