Savannah, MO- Carol A. Lance, 63, passed away Saturday morning, May 22, 2010, at her home.
Carol was born on April 18, 1947, in Maryville, MO, to Walter and Ica (Robertson) Cummings. Carol was raised in Grant City, MO. She was a graduate of Grant City High School and earned her master’s degree in early childhood special education at Northwest MO State College, in Maryville, MO. She was a member of Albany Order of Eastern Star and Missouri State Teachers Association.
Carol was employed by the Savannah School District for eight years as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, retiring in 2006, after a lifetime career of teaching.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ashley Phillippe and her first husband, David E. Warman.
Carol married Arnold Lance on September 27, 2001. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Jessica Phillippe, St. Joseph, MO; step-daughter, Michelle Lance, Cameron, MO; mother-in-law, Grace Davison, Union Star, MO; sisters-in-law, Patsy Everhart, Maryville, MO and Rosemary Smith, Ridgeway, MO.
Mrs. Lance has been cremated. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Three Rivers Hospice.
