Jack W. Martin, 68, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010, at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Jack was born on November 18, 1941, in Green City, Missouri, to Parmer and Katherine (Blender) Martin. He was of the Christian faith. Jack served in the Army during the Cuban Crisis. He was an avid pilot and a proud veteran. He was a member of MO Pilots Association. Jack loved his wife most and was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed the outdoors and selling things, especially cars.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and son, Rickey Martin.
Jack married Sue Ann Weiser in Troy, Kansas on April 26, 1965. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his children, Jacquelyn (Terry) Lynch, St. Joseph, MO, Rebecca Martin and Robert Keiser, St. Joseph, MO, Randy Martin, Jefferson City, MO, James (Brenda) Martin, Tipton, MO, Christie (Mike) Bird, Maysville, MO; sister, Carla (Larry)) Long, Denver, MO; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the Chapel, where the family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Noyes Home for Children.
