Finis McClain, 94, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the St. Louis Veterans Home in St. Louis, Missouri.
Finis was born on August 17, 1915 at the family farm in Cole County, Oklahoma to Thomas and Ida Mae (Dodd) McClain. He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years and then worked as the custodian at Francis Street First United Methodist Church, of which he was also a long time member. He was also a member of the VFW Post 1668.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Claribel (Albright); parents; son, George McClain and sister, Alice Tennyson.
Survivors include his daughter, Mellissa and husband Tom Wegmann, St. Louis, MO; brother, Ed; sisters, Mary Ellen Dean and Essie Alta; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Services 10:00 am Tuesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Mt. Mora Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
