Savannah, MO- Dorothy Mae (Werth) McCoy, 89, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010.
Dorothy was born on November 7, 1920 to William and Edna (Thorburn) Werth in Fillmore, Missouri. She graduated from Fillmore High School in 1938, and on January 1, 1948, married Marion McCoy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, on December 14, 2009; her parents; her daughter, Patty Kimble, on December 13, 1996 and her brother, Doyle Werth, on November 16,1976.
Dorothy had a great love for her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Her yard was always filled with beautiful flowers and she loved to share whatever she grew in her large garden. In later years, she was an avid Royals fan and never missed listening to a game.
Survivors include her sons, Charles (Phyllis) , Steve (Marijane) of Savannah, MO and John (Jill) of Germany; seven grandchildren, Karla Long, St. Joseph, Heather (Jake) Archer, Abilene, TX, Wendy McCoy, Austin,TX, Jeff (Jill) McCoy, Craig (Shelly) McCoy, Savannah, MO, Brant (Tara) McCoy, Platte City, MO and Blair McCoy, Kansas City; ten great-grandchildren, Danielle (Chad) Allenbrand, Spring Hill, KS, Tucker, Tate, Caden, Brendan, Wyatt McCoy, Savannah, MO, Liam McCoy, Platte City, Shane Bonar, Lexi Heronymus, Morgan Archer, Abilene, TX; two great-great-grandchildren, Fletcher Hubbard, Julianna Allenbrand, Spring Hill, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services by Rev. Krista Kiger at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Graveside Prayer Service led by great-great-grandson, Fletcher Hubbard with interment in Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, MO.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Service at the funeral chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Hands of Hope Hospice.
