Bessie Marguerite Miller, 80, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Bessie was born on March 12, 1930, in St. Joseph, MO. She was a member of Community Christian Church, where she helped with the Food Pantry and was a member of the Lady Gold Wings at Moila Shrine Temple. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, cooking and spending time with her family. She worked at Quaker Oats and later at Snow White Restaurant as a waitress.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Jackson and Lillian Grace (Huffman) Holtsclaw; four brothers and one sister.
She married Clarence B. Miller on December 31, 1946. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include sons, Ronald Bateman (Tina) Miller, Troy, KS and Kevin Eugene (Gretchen) Miller, St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Lisa Mechelle Handy, St. Joseph, MO; sisters, Norma Jean Libby and Vivian Swanson; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services 11:00 a.m. Friday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Helena Cemetery, Helena, MO.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
