Carl Gilbert Moore, 84, St. Joseph, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 at his home.
Carl was born on August 19, 1927 in St. Joseph to Charles & Flossie (Herring) Moore, Sr.
Carl worked at Wonder Bread Bakery, and was a member of the Baker’s Union and Eagle’s Lodge #149. He was an active member and had served as a Union Steward. During that time he also worked part time at Midland Photo where he developed a love of photography. After he retired from the bakery, he worked at South Belt K-Mart as a greeter and also took care of the garden center.
He cared and loved his family and was always caring for and helping others who were in need.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Flossie (Herring) Moore, his wife, Doris J. (Glise), and brothers, Charles T. Moore Jr. & Dean McPheter.
Surviving family includes daughters, Kathleen Williams, Austin, Texas; April Fager, North Platte, Nebraska; son, Timothy Moore, St. Joseph; brother, Donald Moore, Poulsbo, Washington; half-sisters, Connie Christopher, Frances Foster, Donna Davidson, all of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Christopher Joe, Michael Joe, Scott Schneider II, Stacey Phillips, Raye Lynn Cowdrey, Justin Fager, Tabitha Weaver, & Cassandra Valenzuela, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Moore has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
The family will gather at the San Jose Steakhouse, Friday, February 10, 2012.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
The family requests guests bring a written remembrance.
