Carrollton, TX-Dorothea Lee Munroe, 79, , formerly of Elwood, Kansas, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010, at a Plano nursing home.
Dorothea was born January 26, 1931 to Sylvanus and Osa Ceola (Willis) Page, Sr. in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was a machine operator for Sherwood Medical in Elwood for 13 years, retiring in 1983.
Dorothea was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Elwood and served on their usher and mission boards.
She was married to Norman Y. Munroe until his passing on November 12, 1995. Dorothea was also preceded by parents; daughters, Carolyn Munroe, Marilyn Munroe; and sisters, Meldora, Mercedees and Marlene Page.
Dorothea is survived by her five generation family, two daughters, Norma Jean Williams of Carrollton, Texas, Carmen Renee (Rueben) Wallace of Clarksdale, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Benita, Samson, Ka-Lee, Shawn and Ty’ Nesha; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great grandsons; sister, Betty Jean Robinson, Topeka, Kansas; brother, Sylvanus “Sonny” Page, Jr., of Elwood; numerous nieces, nephews; and cousins.
Mrs. Munroe has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. There will be no visitation or services.
