Deborah (Debbie) Faye (Buckles-Irwin) Peek, 56, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 at a local hospital surrounded by her family.

Deborah (Debbie) was born August 11, 1953 to Donald Paul and Edna Mae (Snider) Buckles, Sr. in Fairfax, Missouri

She started school at Forest City, Missouri and considered Forest City and Oregon her home all of her life.

She graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1971. She graduated from Methodist Medical Center School of Nursing in June 1975. The last years of her career were spent in Home Health.

She sang several years with the family group “Gospel Tones”.

She married Kenneth E. Irwin in November 1974. After 20 years of marriage, he went home to be with the Lord. In May, 1994, she married Orval Edward “Ed” Peek. After 13 years of marriage, he also went home to be with the Lord.

She was also preceded in death by her father, Rev. Donald Paul Buckles, Sr.

She is survived by one daughter, Maegan Marie Irwin, St. Joseph; one step-daughter, Stacy Gerhardt and husband, Rick; two step-sons, Jimmy Peek and wife, Anita, Ken Peek and wife Lori; nine grandchildren, Christopher Melton, Daniel, Erin and Andrew Gerhardt, Krystal and Kyanne Peek, Riley, Kaitlin and Jackson Peek; and one great-grandson, Kylar Peek; mother, Edna Buckles; brothers,
Paul Buckles, Jr., Dr. Randy Buckles, Dr. Steven Buckles, Jeff Buckles; sister, Dr. Lisa Nordberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services 10am, Monday at The Journey Church, 3004 Pickett Road, St. Joseph.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon Sunday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday evening. Interment Benton Cemetery, Forest City, Missouri.

The family suggests memorial contributions to The Journey Church.
