Verl L. Pendleton, Sr., 88, Union Star, Missouri passed away Tuesday, February
16, 2010 at Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center, Leavenworth, Kansas.
Verl was born June 17, 1921 to Jake and Nellie Pendleton in Savannah, Missouri.
Verl served in the Army, 3rd Division, 7th Infantry Regiment from 1939 to 1945.
He received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his heroism during World
War II.
He was a member of American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans.
Verl was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricky Pendleton; daughter, Karen
Williams; granddaughter, Amy McDaniel; sisters, Mary Lou McIntyre, Pauline Jones;
brothers, Clinton, George and Howard Pendleton.
Verl and Jo Ann were married on September18, 1982, and she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include sons, Verl, Jr. (Diane), Dennis (Linda); daughters, Cheryl (Carl) McDaniel, Barbara (Ron) Steiner, all of Union Star, Susan Bennett, St. Joseph.
He has 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson.
Celebration of Life 6 pm, Saturday at the home in Union Star. Mr. Pendleton has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Inurnment King Hill Cemetery at a later date.
