Veronica “Bonnie” Petersen, 72, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Veronica was born in Shenandoah, Iowa, on October 18, 1937, to Peter Hans and Georgetta (Kelso) Petersen. She had been a resident of St. Joseph since 1955.
Veronica was a 1956 graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph, Platt College of Commerce, then joined the Army WACS. She also worked at Methodist Hospital for many years, until her retirement. She enjoyed family, friends and her animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Clifford Beasley and one brother, Wendell Dewey.
Survivors include one brother, Charles (Yvonne) Petersen , Clarksdale, MO; step-sister, Jodi (Pete) Halamar of St. Joseph and many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Petersen has been cremated. Memorial Services 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Arthritis Foundation.
