M. Dodie Pinch, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at her residence.
Dodie was born on October 27, 1930, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was a graduate of Convent of the Sacred Heart and attended St. Joseph Junior College. She was a 1970 graduate of UMKC with a BA in English. She did her student teaching a Paseo High school, in Kansas City, where she continued teaching for five years. She retired from Bishop LeBlond High School in 1995 after twenty-two years of teaching. She continued to substitute teach for ten more years. Dodie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Dodie was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Cora A. (Cunningham) Pinch; and two brothers, Jack and Bill Pinch.
Survivors include her sister, Colleen A. Snyder, of the home; nieces, Lynn and Dan Hubert and Lisa and Mark Sanders; nephews, Bill & Kathi Snyder, Chris and Angie Snyder, Mark and Lori Snyder and several nieces and nephews of the Pinch family and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial 9:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon Friday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Rosary 6:00 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorials to Bishop LeBlond High School.
