Georgia Schmitt, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010, at her home.
Georgia was born on July 10, 1921 in Guilford, Missouri, where she was raised.
She married Charles “Dean” Schmitt on October 12, 1946 at Wyatt Park Christian Church in St. Joseph. He passed away June 25, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Grace (Ellis) Giffin; one brother; and one sister.
Georgia will be sadly missed by her son, Charles V. Schmitt (Dianne), St. Joseph, MO; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Chapel, where the family will receive friends 6:00–8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society.
