C.J. “Bud” Spaeth, 91, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at LaVerna Village in Savannah, Missouri.
Bud was born on July 21, 1918 in Gainesville, Texas to Fred and Elizabeth (Reinart) Spaeth. The family moved to the Easton area when he was a young boy. Bud farmed all of his life operating a Grade A dairy for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jim; four brothers, Nick, Andy, Glenn and Joe Spaeth.
He married Eileen Reardon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Easton on November 21, 1942, where they have been life-long members. Survivors include his wife, Eileen of the home; three daughters, Jeanne Rost (Jim), Carol Schober, (Ron), Mary Wilson; one son, Steve Spaeth (Amy); sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sally Hager and Stene Pioch and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud was an honest man, a hard worker and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial 11am Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Easton, Missouri. Interment St. Joseph, Cemetery, Easton, Missouri. Visitation will begin after 1:00pm Friday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Rosary 6:00pm Friday evening at our chapel. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8:00pm.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Hands of Hope Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice.
