James D. Stubbs, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, at a St. Joseph health care center.

James was born on July 22, 1935, in Dearborn, MO, to William and Emma (Cozad) Stubbs. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Mic-o-Say Tribe.

James worked for the St. Joseph School District and also for Highland Dairy for eighteen years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Gilbert, Garvin and David Stubbs; two half-brothers, Henry Bressman and Frank Bressman and one half-sister, Vale Jean Stubbs, who died in infancy.

He married Daisy Eiberger on July 27, 1963, at St. Joseph Cathedral. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his children, James L. Stubbs & wife Vickie, St. Joseph, MO, Daisy Ann Gaddie and husband James, St. Joseph, MO, Jason L. Stubbs and wife, Melissa, Rea, MO; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Hensley, Dearborn, MO, Sarah Morris, Gower, MO, Maxine Deathridge and Bessie Fresbie, both of St. Joseph, MO; and one brother, Bob Stubbs, West Plains, MO.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Entombment Mt. Olivet Mausoleum.

Visitation will begin after 10:00 a.m. Friday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Chapel, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

The family requests memorial donations to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
