Donald “Don” Thomas, 80, Faucett, Missouri passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at a local hospital.

Donald was born April 22, 1930 to Glenn and Marguerite (Cawley) Thomas in Faucett. He moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, where he graduated from Central High School.

After graduating, he married Dorothy Butcher and they became the parents of two daughters and one son. They later divorced. He started his career as an over the road truck driver for Dugdales and later Yellow Freight. Don then moved to Memphis, Tennessee and went to work forP.I.E., from where he retired.

He was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters and belonged to Moila Shrine Temple. After retirement, he returned to Faucett. The last few years, his greatest joy was taking care of his great-grandchildren and helping others. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Preceding Don in death were his parents.

Survivors include daughters, Cynthia (Tom) Davis, St. Joseph, Chris Rensing, Independence, Missouri; son, Mitchell Thomas, Huntsville, Texas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Byron (Carol) Thomas, St. Joseph.

Mr. Thomas has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. There will be no visitation or services.

The family suggests memorial contributions, in Don’s name, to American Lung Association.
