Eva D. Trubey, 88, Savannah Missouri, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at The Court at Overland Park, a healthcare facility where she has resided for the past 16 months.

She was born September 14, 1921, near Forbes in northwest Missouri, to Joseph and Mary Milne Kennedy. She lived most of her life near Bolckow, before moving to Savannah in 1988.

On December 21, 1944, she married Walter L. Trubey, who preceded her in death in 1991. During World War II, she, along with her husband, worked in the shipyards in California, and she later worked in a St. Joseph meat processing plant, but mostly she assisted her husband in their farming operation near Bolckow.

Mrs Trubey is survived by daughter Linda Leese and husband, James, Overland Park, Kansas, son, Donald Yates, and wife, Linda, St. Joseph, and son Harold Trubey, and wife, Della, Kansas City, Missouri, three grandsons, and four great-grandchildren. Her sister, Roberta Waugh, and brother, Gordon Kennedy, also survive, together with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, two brothers preceded her in death.

The family would like to express its appreciation to the staff of The Court at Overland Park and to Care Alternatives Hospice Care for their compassionate care during Mrs. Trubey’s period of illness.

Funeral Services were held January 12, 2010 at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel. Pastor Greg Townson officiated at the service. Interment was at the Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, Missouri. The Pallbearers were Ronald Kennedy, Dean Kennedy, James Kennedy, Michael Leese and Scott Firebaugh.
