George William Watts, 61, St. Joseph, MO went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 18, 2010. He had been battling Pancreatic Cancer for the last year.

George was born on August 20, 1948, in Sabetha, Kansas, to Edward and Mary Watts. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward “Bud” Watts.

George married the former Winnie Dotson on August 9, 1971. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Watts, Highland KS; son, Joshua Andrew Watts and wife Veronica, Friendswood, TX; daughter Taira Anne Gall & husband Tom, Columbia, MO; daughter, Colby Michelle Watts, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Nathan, Benjamin and Emily Gall, Miliana Ward and Connor Owen George Watts; brother, James Watts and wife Jackie, Highland, KS; sisters, Sharon Collins and husband Claude, Highland, KS; and Linda Maris and husband Richard, White Cloud, KS; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Emmy and Noah.

George attended Highland Community College before entering military service where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was the former Sales Engineer and General Manager of Associated Bearings before his last job as Purchasing Supervisor at AGP, here in St. Joseph.

Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon Monday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel where the family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday.

Private graveside services will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Joseph Public Library.
