Arlowene “Arlo” Willis, 84, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Arlo was born on December 24, 1925, in St. Joseph, to Frank and Phalissa (Carmichael) Heald.
She was a graduate of Benton High School and worked for Swift and Co. for twenty years.
She married Walter “Les” Willis, Jr. in August, 1943. He passed away on February 28, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harry and Hallard Heald and her son, Roger Willis.
Arlo is survived by two sons, Dennis Willis (Margie), St. Joseph, MO, Walter L. Willis III (Kim), Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 Noon Tuesday at the Chapel, where the family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to American Heart Association or to Alzheimer’s Association.
