Gallatin, MO – Alan W. Worrel, 66, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, in St. Joseph.

Alan was born October 8, 1943 to Raymond Franklin Worrell and Dorothy Frances (Shelton) Worrell Lindsey in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where he was raised. After high school, he joined the Army. Alan then became a security guard for a construction business and for a mobile home park. He also worked as a gas station manager. Alan was a former member of the Salvation Army and the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

In 1969, he married Karen Mae Anderson in Wisconsin and they resided in Kansas City, Missouri for two years. They moved to California, where they lived for 27 years before moving back to Missouri.

Preceding Alan in death were his parents; son, Lloyd Eugene Worrel; sister, Marcie Gajus, and first wife, Iris Ault.

Survivors include wife, Karen Worrel; sons, Anthony Worrel, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Wayne Worrel, Eric Worrel, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughters, Sheryl Worrel, Paramount, California, JoAnne Worrel, Winnetka, California; son, Norman Ault, also of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Marcus Worrel, Myranda “Mandy” Worrel, Jennifer Ullrick,
Rachelle Ault, Lydia Wilkinson; sisters, Lois Zuspann, Carol Perry, Ruth Jarrett; brothers, Leo and Stanley Worrell; 16 nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Gallatin. Mr. Worrel has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
